Coffee Etiquette in Japan

In Japanese specialty coffee shops, hand-dripped coffee often takes center stage over espresso.
Keep in mind that non-fat or non-dairy milk options might not always be available.
Remember these etiquette tips when visiting the best cafes in Japan

  • Keep your voice down and avoid phone calls.
  • Order at least one drink per person if you plan to stay a while.
  • Be mindful when taking photos, especially of other customers.
  • Don’t forget to actually enjoy your coffee amidst the photo-taking!
